How’s that for a non-clickbait title! Was it smart? Probably not. Was it safe? Meh. Was it grueling? You betcha! After another 1000+ mile day of driving the RV we finally made it to Venice, Florida. Despite another bout of crazy rain and wind at about 3am we pushed on since we were so close, and then some time after 4am we pulled into the driveway and went to sleep in RV so as not to wake up my parents. They weren’t expecting us until the following night so we already knew they weren’t waiting up for us. Wow, what a drive. Not sure how excited I’d be to make another 4 day cross country trip. It’s very nice to finally be able to stretch out, but it’s great to see my parents again. I’m pretty sure Boomer really appreciates it too. It must be hard on him to be cooped up in a RV for a few days with only the occasional business related work to stretch his legs. Lucky him though. There’s a neighborhood dog park just a couple of blocks away. We’ve already gone twice.
While the pace of the trip was a bit rough, it did come with some bright spots. We didn’t have to empty the black tank at all. We didn’t need to fill up the water tank on the way and even had some left over (we filled it up about 2/3rds before we left home. And we never needed to stop for groceries.
Now its time to start planning our trip back. Its going to be nice to actually stop and catch a few sites along the way this time.
Holey smokes you and your dad look so much alike!
